Blogerifics:
On our "to do" list was visit the Botanical Gardens in Leipzig.

Apparently this thing is old as well. Thankfully today was a gorgeous day in Leipzig so we decided to head out. We walked the 1.5 clicks to the Garden. Thankfully it's open everyday without charge. After our trip to St. Louis Botanical Garden we were really excited to see some gorgeous things. Sometimes old doesn't mean good.
So the gardens were interesting. There was some cool paths to go on but on the whole the plants were quite dull. Minimal to no flowers. There were 2 or 3 pond type things but the water was disgusting and void of any fish. The greenhouses were all closed- but looking inside wasn't too impressive either. We snapped some pics and headed out to have a picnic at the neighboring park, Friedenspark.
Thankfully, the park was gorgeous. Extensive paths and amazing green fields of grass with gorgeous trees. We found a playground with slides for L Rizzy to ride and went on a seesaw. There were soccer fields and even permanent ping pong tables with metal nets. We had a picnic under a magnificent tree and enjoyed the weather (and unlike Los Angeles "parks" this one was not grossly overpopulated). The other interesting part of the park was the ridiculous amount of Buckeye Trees. Literally hundreds. More so than I have ever seen in the ""Buckeye State." We collected some for our basket at home.
After enjoying this great park we decided to head home. When leaving the park we saw two enclosed areas that were filled with flowers. We are unsure as to what the areas were since the signs were in perfect German. Nonetheless, the flowers were gorgeous and we took more pictures. Satisfied with the day we trekked home, tired and weary from a long day of walking in the sun. We may not visit the Botanical Gardens again, but we'll be back to the park for sure.
