Blograders:
Ok so who's keeping score? What do we got here... 3 in a row? 5 of the last 6? In terms of Michael Jordan over Utah Jazz- is this me holding my hand up over Bryon Russel? No, no it's not. But it quite possibly could be. In fact it really depends. On how Bryon Russel responds. Bryon, we all recall, rebounded from that humiliating defeat to win 10 championships in a row and is now enshrined in the basketball hall of fame as the greatest player ever to have lived. Right? Right...
The truth is this is NOT MJ over BR, it's SP assisting MJ. For those of you who don't habla basketball- it's not a conquerer over the conquered, it is in fact a First Lieutenant finding glory under his able bodied and absolutely right minded General. L Mama showed me the path. She's Batman, I'm Robin. She's Obi-wan Kenobi, I'm Anakan. Or Luke. She's Ralph Frank III, I'm Lucas W. She's Michael Jackson, I'm Tito.
Nevertheless, I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoy this. I'll take second fiddle. And if need be, I'll step up and swing for the fences. I'm the Babe. I'll point to the fences, hit the home run, drink 4 pints, and enjoy the company of the home coming queen (even if she didn't get the crown she deserved due to an early nap with her homecoming dress on).
Three paragraphs! Three friggin paragraphs! I haven't said anything. I'm almost ashamed that you're still reading. I forgive you. Big smile. Atta boy/girl. So on Christmas day L Mama, L Rizzy and I were lucky enough to get the invite to our friends from England (friends of our Aussie friends). At first we were ambivilent- we didn't want to intrude and we thought maybe it would be nice to spend the holiday as a family. As it got closer we realized that we needed to get out of the house... so we did.
It was very nice. There was a huge turkey (that I got to carve- it's not very often that a Brit in Deutschland has a unemployed heart surgeon as his Christmas dinner guest), tons of sides and lots of hooch. We ate, drank, and were merry. There were even gifts for L Rizzy (his first and last of the Christmas season). And when the eating and drinking were completed, we bid adieu to our English and Aussie friends, and made for Inselstr. Was it the best Christmas ever? No... that was 1989 when I got a soccer ball, shoulder pads, and with the help of my brothers, invented "Over The Top" in the back yard. Was it good enough? Absolutely. I spent it with my wife and son. I won't ever forget it.

Quotsmas:"Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas."
