We were very fortunate this holiday season. Uncle Curt and Aunt Hannah visited Germany and we visited Berlin and Prague (more on that in future posts...). They also brought with them a few things to pick us up. We ordered a shipment from soap.com and had it delivered to their apartment so they could bring it over in their suitcases. Included in this order was Kraft Mac and Cheese (the cheesiest), BUTTER and MOVIE BUTTER microwave popcorn, Advil, puffs for L. Rizzy, and Mucinex-DM. They also brought us our wonderful gifts from the Henn Christmas Gift exchange- special thanks to Katie and Frank for the wonderful presents. Furthermore, while they were here, we received a holiday package from our number 1's in Youngstown, Jess, Ian and baby E.
Included in this package were several bags of candy, puffs and cheese curls for L Rizzy, Christmas Tree hostess cakes, cream of chicken soup for L Mama, and the coup de grace which was a gorgeous Christmas stocking which was embroidered with L Rizzy. I thoroughly enjoyed the candy (still am) while hardly sharing any with L Mama while L Rizzy spent and extended period of time figuring out the stringy packaging (still hasn't). What wasn't included in the package was a bottle of Prego spaghetti sauce which was inadvertently broken prior to shipment!
Next we (L Rizzy) got a massive amount of wonderful treats and food stuffs from Uncles Curt and Matt and Aunts Jamie and Hannah. The new treats came in very handy for our travels and the food squeeze containers are amazingly convenient (and tasty according to a randomized, blinded tastes test conducted by L Mama on herself). Coincidentally, we were looking for these very types of baby food here in Germany and could not find them anywhere. Surely this was an ingenious gift from L Rizzy's loving Aunts and Uncles. (Coulda thrown in a package or two of Skittles....but uh....).
Finally they also brought a gift from Uncle Frank, Aunt Jenny and cousins Charles and Elyse. Inside the box was L Rizzy's first pair of soccer shoes... some Adidas Sambas. These will surely come in handy as L Rizzy starts his quest toward ambulation... which will put him on the road to being an actual, functional member of this family who can provide specific services under the auspices of his parents. We've got our fingers crossed.
All in all, it was a great holiday season made possible by our exceptional friends and family. We received extensive other support that cannot be all listed here- but know that each and every one of you mean the world to us, and your support during out time abroad, while maybe not mentioned in this blog, will not be forgotten in our hearts.

I just read through all of the previous 10 or so posts I have missed. It makes me miss you guys a TON. Having the opportunity to get to know L Riz and explore your hometown and two other cities with you was really special. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!
