The trip of a lifetime comes to the end with presents!

Giovanni picked us up right on time and took us back on the long winding road up the Amalfi Coast to Naples (Mark Zuckerberg... you know what I'm talking about- how's that honeymoon going?).  We boarded a plane there and had 2 hours of absolute misery.  L Rizzy was due his afternoon nap but failed to go to sleep.  So he was a mess.  The people in front of us were not too impressed with his displays and constant activity.  The guy sitting next to me repeatedly informed me of the evils of BPA and that we should be feeding our son out of a glass bottle to avoid it.  Duly noted, sir.  Unfortunately, Grandmother Molly had the worst seat of all.  She was in the aisle seat.  Sounds ok, right?  Not so much.  The other two seats were occupied by an amazingly large couple.  The husband, in the middle seat, was roughly 6'6" and weighed at least 300 lbs.  His wife was 6'4" and was pushing 290 for sure.  These two behemoths did not leave much room for poor Grandmother Molly.  What was worse, though, was the couple seemed to think the lack of room was due to Grandmother Molly.  After 2 long, grueling hours we were happy to be back in Berlin.  We cabbed to the train station and trained back to Leipzig.  We arrived at Inselstrasse exhausted and ready for bed.  In our mailbox there were two DHL stickers...

So the next morning we went to the DHL office and picked up the packages- one from Aunt Thresa and family and one from "R Albeit and Co."  Aunt Thresa sent an insane amount of great summer clothes for L Rizzy to destroy over the next 3 months.  R Albeit and Co sent a July 4th preparedness package complete with t-shirts, an American flag, USA stickers, old pictures of himself, old letters sent to him, and magazines that he had marked up with a sharpie.  Altogether it was a nice set of presents to come home to.

This morning I trained up to Berlin with Grandmother Molly and got her checked in (including a full suitcase of our gear in addition to her stuff) for her ride home to America.  While we all were very sad to see her go, we felt very fortunate to have gotten to spend some much time together seeing some absolutely amazing things.  L Rizzy is going to miss his Grandmother Molly.

Package time!

Look at all these clothes

"This one is my favorite."

"I see the American flag."
