Dunnottar Castle and St. Andrews, Scotland

After a semi-good night sleep we ate breakfast and rolled out from Aberdeen at around 9am.  We were rushing because the weather forecast said cloudy all day long but in the morning the sun was out and gorgeous so we wanted to take advantage of the sun at our first stop: Dunnottar Castle.  We arrived at 9:30 which is right when it opens and we were the first car in the parking lot.  It was amazing as you can see from the pictures below.  We hiked up and down the valley's and cliffs taking pictures and video.  L Mama found a rather tranquil spot on a rock beach next to the castle where we hung out for an hour or so while L Rizzy attempted (and maybe was successful?) eating rocks.  Once in the castle the view were amazing and the grass so unbelievably green.  After nearly two hours here we were completely knackered and sweaty messes.  So we climbed back into the car with the A/C on full blast and blazed down the east coast absolutely flying.  While L Mama and L Rizzy were sleeping I must have topped out at damn near 350 miles per hour.  No big deal.

The reason for my haste was The Royal and Ancient Golf Club at St. Andrews.  It was amazing.  The first golf course in the world and I was able to get my picture on the famous 18th hole bridge (the significance was lost on my co-travellers).  After some time in St. Andrews, while L Rizzy expressed his immense hunger and unwillingness to just relax, we got back on the road headed to Edinburgh Airport.  Tonight we will stay here then tomorrow fly to Dublin where my mother is already airborn headed across the ocean to meet us at the Radisson Blu at Dublin Airport.  L Rizzy is excited to see his grandmother and we are "excited" to get the chance to fly with the little one again.
