Construction is finally complete....

After 6 weeks of brutal construction and very early morning use of heavy machinery, the grocery store downstairs is finally complete.  I've got to be honest... can't say I've ever been excited about a grocery store being built.  Don't get me wrong, I love food.  But I love eating it.  I love it being served to me.  I love rolling around in it (sometimes).  I generally do not enjoy shopping for it.  Until now.  The convince is unbelievable.  Inside this majestic cove of nourishment there is a separate bakery, an extensive wine collection, a large selection of bier, a place to return bottles and plastic for cold, hard Euros, fresh fruit, and just about anything else your little heart could desire.  Never again during out time in Leipzig will the words be uttered, "Dang it I have to go all the way back to the grocery because I forgot...."  Instead, the phrase of choice will be, "Oh don't worry dear, I'll head down the 3 floors to the Netto because we forgot..."

Open from 7am until 8pm from Montag bis Samstag, this place is going to make winter grocery shopping with L Rizzy a snap.  No long trudges through the snow with the stroller packed to the brim with goods will be necessary.  The cart will simply come up the elevator with us.  I might even start a cart collection in the spare room, just in case.
