Hello Blogerrifics:
L Mama, being the social butterfly that she is, has made a great friend through the International Women's Club named Julie. Julie is married to Michael and they have two sons, Sebastian (2) and Darius (6 months). L Rizzy and Darius have been attending the local playgroups scouring for ladies. Julie and Michael invited the entire Henn Family in Leipzig to come over for pancake breakfast and to attend some local horse races. Absolutely was the reply.
We showed up at 10ish and feasted on homemade pancakes with apple cinnamon topping including homemade whipped cream. We had some champagne as well to wash it all down. After the kids played awhile and we enjoyed the sun, we headed out to the horse track. After securing tickets we entered only to find out the grandstand was under renovations! So after waiting 20 minutes to get some drinks we watched the first race and then found a shaded area behind an evergreen tree. We enjoyed the drinks and chatted away the afternoon. When it came time to head out we watched one more race from the finish line after choosing our respective horses. Needless to say my wobbly, weak stead came in last by nearly 30 lengths. We walked back through the forrest to catch the tram and headed home. It was a gorgeous Sunday and lots of fun.
