L Rizzy's Adventures: Thresa arrives and she's bearing gifts!

A couple of days after L Rizzy's first birthday Aunt Thresa came to Leipzig bearing LOTS of gifts for the birthday boy! L Dubs, L Rizzy, and I took a train to Leipzig Airport to pick up Aunt Thresa. We made a special sign for her so she would know exactly who was picking her up. L Riz held the sign for a couple of minutes, but by the time she collected her luggage and came out, he was over it, and I ended up holding it. It was such a great moment to see her walk through the doors. I was so excited to see her but even more excited for her to get to spend time with L Rizzy. We had a week full of fun. We took a day trip to the zoo one day. As you know by the previous (multiple) posts, L Riz loves the zoo. Aunt Thresa carried him around in the Baby Bjorn. I don't know how she did it without breaking her back...he is heavy! We went shopping one day. It was great to have her to shop with. I usually have L Dubs go with me. He tells me everything looks lovely, even if it doesn't, just to get me out of the store. We went shopping ANOTHER day. And, did I mention, we went shopping AGAIN! The day before Aunt Thresa left we had L Rizzy's first birthday party. We will blog about his birthday party in an upcoming post. Let me just say that his first birthday party was even more special with his Aunt Tee Tee here to help us celebrate.

Now for the gifts...An entire suitcase was dedicated to all the gifts friends and family sent for L Rizzy. Grandma and Papa sent TONS of spring/summer clothes. We were able to clean his closet of winter clothes and restock it full of brand new spring/ summer clothes. They also sent him some toys that he loves. Thank you Grandma and Papa! Aunt Thresa, Uncle Bri, and the kids sent L Rizzy some gorgeous Polo shirts, books, and even more toys/stuffed animals. Thank you Aunt Tee Tee and Uncle Bri! Cheryl and Kaitlin sent wonderful snacks and food for L Rizzy along with new sippy cups, toothbrush and toothpaste, Doritos for me, and candy for L Dubs!! Thank you Cheryl and Kaitlin!! Aunt Jess, Uncle E, and Baby E sent L Rizzy some very trendy shirts and a pair of gray jeans like L Dubs. They also sent him a nice pair of Converse kicks. There was a little problem though. In the box were two right shoes! We had to send them back so that they can return them and get a left shoe. He will have them back before we know it. I can't wait to see him in them! Thank you Aunt Jess and Uncle E. Last, but not least, we received a generous gift card from Kevin, Shelly, and kids for Toys R Us. I look forward to taking L Rizzy (and L Dubs) to Toys R Us when return stateside. We will let him (them?) pick out whatever he (they?) want(s?). Thank you Kev and Shell!
