Transatlantic on the Queen Mary 2

After a 2 week tour of the UK and Ireland we were finally ready to make our way home.  We got onto the Queen Mary 2 from Cunard in Southampton and rode this monster all the way to New York.  The service was amazing and the ship was gorgeous.  There were some small issues though.  The weather for the trip was not too kind.  Just about every day we had moderate seas with swells up to 7 feet- this made the ship move quite a lot in the water (making L Mama seasick for the first few days).  Thankfully Grandmother Molly brought an array of pharmaceuticals to help ease the sickness.  Also, L Rizzy was old enough to ride on the boat but 6 months too young to be in the kid play area alone with the British nannies.  Nevertheless he had a good time playing with and tasting all the strange toys.  Perhaps by tasting these toys he also came down with a bit of a cold, and this combined with the small quarters and strange environment, led to poor sleeping habits.  These poor sleeping habits led to some complicated meal times but on the whole he did his best to remain entertained.  We especially enjoyed the lunchtime buffet and the amazing dinners in the Britannia Club.  When we pulled into New York we had a spectacular view of downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.  It was a fun week, but we are certainly glad to finally be home.

L Rizzy was none too thrilled about the life jacket training
