Our flat in Leipzig!

Below are pictures of the flat we have rented in Leipzig.  It came furnished since we were not interested in buying new furniture or moving our furniture halfway around the world.  We chose the flat with the help of a leasing company.  The hard wood floors looked nice and so did the huge wall of windows.  We did not take into account L Rizzy falling on the hard wood or the sun blazing into our windows with the fury of almighty Zeus himself.  After a few rugs, some blinds expertly hung by myself (see a few posts back), and some well placed USA care package items... the flat is much more livable.  We have gotten used to being without a shower curtain and learned to use the washer.  We have watched TV 3 or 4 times and the one channel out of 30 that speaks English is United Kingdom CNN- we stopped watching TV after getting sick of hearing about the crashing markets, war in Libya, and the riots in England.  We didn't need the news to bring our spirits down, too!  Our view off the balcony is quite nice except for the eye sore abandoned building to the left.  Also, there has been construction from 7 am- 4 pm Montag-Freitag on the first floor of our building and next door to our building... complete with hammer drills, jack hammering, and heavy machinery.  Thankfully L Rizzy has slept well through it during the day and the french doors in the middle of the apartment can separate him somewhat when he is sleeping.  There are still a few very minor touch ups that need accomplished (shower curtain?!?!), but in the meantime we becoming a more happy family in our new home!
