The Zoo Revisited

Blogippers:

As the weather is getting warmer we decided to go all in and get Zoo passes for the remainder of our time here.  The extra beauty of it is there is a tram that goes from our nearest stop and drops us off directly in front of the Zoo.  We found out that at 10:30 every morning one elephant gets a a bath and there is a place to watch from above and below the water.  Unfortunately, there was not an opportunity to swim with the pachyderm.  Why are there only opportunities to swim with dolphins?  What if someone, and I'm not saying I am (I AM), is interested in swimming with an elephant?  I think I'm going to have to check into this...

But back to the zoo.  We enjoyed the bath time for the elephant in spite of some quite rude and pushy folks.  L Rizzy seems to enjoy the monkeys too but on our way there we were accosted by a group of hens.  Thankfully, with the agility of a mountain goat I was able to quickly steer the new stroller hotness out of the way from the stampede.  Once we made it to the monkey and ape enclosure there was an extremely large ape that was seated right next to the window.  We spent a considerable amount of time trying to get L Rizzy or the ape to notice each other to no avail.  I did, however, manage to catch two monkeys in quite a compromised position.  The Riz loved pointing out all the crazy jumping animals and enjoying the weather in his new stroller.  We will no doubt be back to the zoo, especially if they loosen the restrictions on bathing with the elephants.

Bath time!

  1. I've been swimming with an elephant. No joke. Surprise ending to an elephant ride on a beach in Sri Lanka. No rules in Asia!
