In a strange turn of events that could be filed under "Small World Occurrences," the brother of one of L Dubs' college and med school friends flew into Leipzig to spend a month at a local hospital. An interventional cardiologist by trade, Raj is here to learn some peripheral vascular stent work. With less than two months to go for us, he is a welcomed 'merican visitor to help our remaining time fly by. Also, he made it just in time to help us celebrate the Fourth of July.
So we got some cheap portable grills, hand made some burgers, potatoes and pasta salad, a couple of beers, and headed off to the grassy area "park" down the street. With some "expert" assistance from the local booze hounds, we were able to successfully cook the burgs to perfection and enjoyed a nice day outside on this the birthday of 'merica. We were joined by our English friends who we took great pleasure in reminding them that we were in fact celebrating our Declaration of Independence from the cruel and unjust sovereignty by Her Majesty.
It certainly wasn't a high quality July 4th cook-out... but it will suffice to tie us over for the next 54 days.
